lumière de monde
Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes let me see
Beauty that made
This heart adores You
Hope of a life spent with You
So here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
And You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came
To the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

Methinks I'm rather eclectic, a puzzle. I can't describe myself. My personality is broad, what some have called "A Hub"... :-) *chuckles*
This is a fab quote:
"My clothes keep my various selves buttoned up together, and enable all these otherwise irreconcilable aggregates of psychological phenomena to pass thenselves off as one person."

Indigo by Clarks: "Blush". These are a modernized verson of classic old pumps like my gradmother had! I must admit it... I simply adore these shoes!!! I have resisted thus far because I am too tightwad-ish to pay full price for em at Tall Crest.... heh... plus I can't decide which I like best... Rose, Earth or Black... *sigh* :-) However, I have tried them on and OHHH what comfort a truly well-made shoe provides..... what delight!! :-D

The Intrepid Campers post by
LEAF was, indeed,
fictional, though it was the result of a
genuine camping experience that we
four girls enjoyed and survived alone the weekend of August 27-29. We shall now proceed to pull the
truth from the
ficton...
Words
were exchanged at the gate, and we did get the last available campsite on the first drizzly dark night when we arrived. A young couple had payed for the site at the gate, but had decided upon seeing it that they did not want it. Sites are non-refundable, so they were desperately hoping someone would take it. We were desperately hoping to get a site at all! It was amazing how it all worked out ("like, a total God thing" as some people might say.... heheh ;-))! :-) We did set up camp rather hastily as rain was threatening, and because the lantern and campfire were not lit (some difficulty there while I, Alison, was setting up the tent with Emily, hehehe) we probably made adequate noises stumbling around in the mostly dark area. I (lol pyro that i am... ;-) haha j/k) finally got the lantern and fire figured out and we proceeded to re-arrange the way we had packed the van, set up out things inside the tent, and toast marshmallows and make s'mores.... mmmm....
The next morning we noticed many wasps and bees buzzing about the area, and I suddenly realized with shock that of all the things to forget, I had neglected to pack my Benadryl!!! WUPSIE! *slaps head. hard. several times.* Emily the Brave took up the task of buzzer-killing. A roll of newspaper became her readily brandished weapon, and she managed to destroy the life of almost ever buzzer that dared to come near us! lol (yes, without getting stung! wahoo! way to go :-D ) After a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs prepared for us by the Lovely Laura, (and yes, we did observe the people in the RV next to us consume cold superstore muffins for breaky... *chuckles*) we took a trip into the tiny community of Entwistle just up the hill from the Pembina Provincial Campground. We toodled arround, looking, commenting on how stupid it was that the drug store would be closed on a weekend when most traffic was likely flowing through the little place, and finally found the itsy bitsy grocery store. We bought a few things we needed like milk and batteries for the "ghetoblaster"... oh yes, and of course ice cream.... mmmm ;-) "Drumsticks" are so good... we each had a differnt kind. I asked about Benadryl or such like, and was told to maybe check V&S or a drug store in Evansburg! Only 1km away, we decided it was worth a trip to see.
No Allergy medicines could we find in this slightly larger, but still puny community either, although in the drug store across from the V&S we found childrens liquid Benadryl for hayfever, and the grocery store did have the name on the shelf, but did not have any in stock. Sheesh. One of the girls working in V&S told me that if i got desperate, she had some at home... so that was nice, but i figured i'd just be extra careful.
We ended up touring ourselves through some historic buildings at their tourist information plot, and I (Alison the Wild) bought four pairs of sunglasses at the V&S just for the heck of it. (they were really cheap and i loved the colours... red, blue, purple, black... they make a fantastic addition to my collection ,ehhehe) Laura sensibly bought one pair she liked. (very kewl "clear" shades... maybe i'll poast a pic if i have a good one...) This brought our grande total of sunglasses with us on the trip up to ten and a half!! LOL Yes, that is corerct, 10.5 pairs of sunglasses.... (the half being the magnetic "easy clips" for fiona's glasses)
In the afternoon we decided to go in the river (despite its lower level). It was freezing cold, but once in, it was not too bad. We only had taken one airmatress along, so it was a bit crowded. A few pictures were taken with waterproof disposible cameras, and a sun shower was quite enjoyably fun!! Two of our party decided to abandon ship at the first set of rapids, becuase the rocks were brutal in battering our legs and feet, (*chortles* yes, the "wounds" were from the river, not a "battle" with a "5th member of the party".... hahaha although Emily did strike her heel on the offensivley-located curb... that is true!) but Emily the Brave and Alison the Wild continued to drift downstream, surviving/enjoying one more set of rapids, then calmly enjoying the rest of the way. Alison and Emily met Laura aka Lady Lovely and Princess Fiona on the beach just as the weather decided to let loose with bitterly cold wind and rapid, pelting raindrops. We skedadled back to the campsite, shivering and sand clinging to our feet. We hurriedly rinsed our poorly treated tootsies at the tap (which was convieniently located across the path from our site), toweled off and changed into warm clothing, attempting to stay dry and warm. The rain soon subsided, allowing the sun to smile down on us as well as our wet articles draped on the line we strung between four trees.
The tin foil packages are for real: we made "tin foil dinners" for supper. chopped up carrots, potatos and onions (though we forgot to bring the onions) with a little butter or mustard, ketchup, whatever condiment you wish, get wrapped pharmacy-style into packets you throw in the fire, and later enjoy along with corn cooked the same way... (tho you generally soak the corn in sugar-water a bit first and skip the mustard etc... butter is fine ahahah). We finished it all off with bananaboats. mmmmm most enjoyable after a exhillerating trip down a fridgid river! hehe.
After cleaning up from our rather unconventional meal, we built up the fire and lit the lantern and citronella coil, settling into a cozy glow on our site. Pentonminos and Dutch Blitz were pulled from the van and cheesies, guacamole Doritos and smores also worked their way into our evening as darkness deepened. Sitting around the table, tired and excited from our day as well as bruised and battered a tad from the river excursion, we crazily concocted the story for the LEAF post. We attemted to include some crazy truthful facts as well as make some wild things up.... It was so much fun, it was hard to know when to stop. heh heh. ...

You have a Calm Soul! Being calm and cool is what
you do best. You collected thoughts and always
positive attitude make you very bright and
logical. When theres a problem, you know how to
approach it, and solve it. Your friends rely on
you on their problems, and your shoulder for
their crying. You are peaceful, and enjoy
nature and freedom. You rarely get angry and
hardly scream, which makes you good with kids.
You seem to be in tune with the world and if
anything goes wrong, you always bounce back.
