lumière de monde
Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes let me see
Beauty that made
This heart adores You
Hope of a life spent with You
So here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
And You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came
To the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

Methinks I'm rather eclectic, a puzzle. I can't describe myself. My personality is broad, what some have called "A Hub"... :-) *chuckles*
This is a fab quote:
"My clothes keep my various selves buttoned up together, and enable all these otherwise irreconcilable aggregates of psychological phenomena to pass thenselves off as one person."

Steve and I have been engaged for over a week now! Contrary to what some may think, being engaged does not take anything out of happiness. I believe our love grows deeper as we face the little challenges and thrills that come about now, and will stay strong when we deal with anything greater that may (most likely) occur in the future.
I may not be as effervecient about
love as some others I know, but Steven Hofstede is the "love of my life" (and I mean life!) I thank God for bringing us together. It's an incredible feeling to know that my best friend loves me and wants to cherish me for the rest of his life. All the concerns/worries I had (when Steve first asked to court me) about our friendship being ruined have disolved and I must admit my mother is right: what could be better than being in love with your best friend? :-) *sigh*
I feel expensive and spoiled. The sparkling ring on my finger is perfectly me... I can't imagine many other people having one just like it. I did not want a solitaire (how annoying that would be! catching on everything, perilous rock on the top, threataning to take a great leap and get lost at any moment...) and Steve knew that *chuckles* so we picked this ring together. :-) Beautiful.
Life truly is beautiful.....

Hmmmm.... people always tell me they think I'm older than I really am, and often guess I'm 22 or so, but this is interesting.... :-0
| You Are 24 Years Old |
24
Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.
13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.
20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.
30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!
40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

People are judgemental. I find it is particularly rampant within the Christian community, which really is sad because we are not living out the "they will know we are Christians by our love" ideal. Christian love is frequently replaced with hasty judgements of others and hostilities toward other denominations, beliefs or religions.
I am not in any way suggesting we should forsake or compromise our own beliefs, simply trying to make a point for loving care of others. Instead of hardening and building walls, we should endeavour to lovingly explain and uphold our views while showing care and respect for others feelings and stances. The church universal is suffering, and these petty judgements have a part in the strife.
Reformed denominations, I have experienced, have a specifically difficult time overcoming these instant judgemental attitudes and wall-building, however the predudices are on all sides: the Baptists who think you are not really a Christian til you are immersed, the Canadian/Christian/Untited Reformed who think if you are a Baptist or Alliance then you are going to hell, the Catholics who think any reformed denomination is wrong because the reformation divided the Christian church, the Presbyterians who say the pope is the anti-Christ and anything Roman Catholic is on a par with satan worship, the Lutherans who cannot abide the "
other kind" of Lutherans... and the list goes on.
The Pope's death caused many people to reflect on his life, work and faith as well as their own. Though some said too much fuss was made, I think in comparrason to Di's funeral, no. Princess Diana's funeral had more attention by the people of the earth, including the media. Pope John Paul II spent his life living out his faith, and I think that is a good thing to be recognized! Perhaps people made much less fuss over him simply because he symbolized a specific "faith group", and in this day and age, that is taboo. Or perchance Diana recieved more care and attention from the world at large because she was what the average woman idolized: the pretty, popular, gutsy yet feminine mother and struggling woman who wants to change the world for the better while maintaining her lavish and curious lifestyle?
As much as I don't agree with much of the Roman Catholic ways, including the papacy and the way some tend to idolize the Pope, I cannot deny his good deeds were an examle for Christians. We should all stand as firmly to our faith as he did, and not be afraid to teach, discuss and show care whenever possible.
Shortly after the Pope's death some made it plain that they thought we should not reflect on his life, nor acknowledge his life as an example for Christians, nor think that he was a true Christian and is in Heaven, as he led so many people astray.... This conversation's ideas are what generated this train of thought. Scripture states: "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved." and yes, that teachers and leaders will be judged more harshly, but this does not say that if a teacher led people astray, he will surely be condemned to hades, does it? Christ's death is the ultimate sacrifice, and will wash away the worst sins if we only repent and believe. Who are we to judge? God alone knows the fate of Pope John Paul II. And the fate of Princess Di, for that matter. With God, anything is possible. Repentance is between the individual sinner and God...
As I was composing this hashed out thought, I was glad to see that I am not alone in my thoughts! I found this:

After Bible study on Sunday night, a bunch of us played some games. The group that I was in played Citadels. I really enjoyed it! It's not the typical "roll&move" game... Owning it would be fabulous, methinx!
