lumière de monde
Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes let me see
Beauty that made
This heart adores You
Hope of a life spent with You
So here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
And You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came
To the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

"What an UGLY painting! How could
anybody STAND that assault to the eyes?!"
"Y'know, gray is not your color. It makes you look sick. Just so you know."
"
eeeew. I hate olives! ...... No, I'm not picky... I just... well, yes, I guess I do dislike quite a bit of stuff... but I'm not
picky. Nobody in
my family is
picky!"
"I hate your hair in that.... is that a style? Really, I couldn't tell..... It's terrible."
"That outfit makes you look soooo tall!!! You have stork legs - Why would you
wear such things???"
"Don't waste your time on those people... If they are elect the Holy Spirit will work in them."
"Of course it's ok to just show up. They expect it. If you don't come, they'll be offended!"
"Oh but
I wouldn't fit
your jeans!!! Yes they'll work, I guess, but never
fit me..."
"People who don't use salt in their cooking are awful. I hate it when people serve
gross food."
"
agh, that's horrible music. I don't see how
anyone could bother listening to that crap..."
"Did you see that woman?! She was SO ugly! People like that shouldn't be out in public..."
"Man, these people are idiots!! They make me so mad. Why can't they just do it right?!"
Needless to say, the above are all unseemly remarks. Unfortunately, I all too often find myself in the midst of comments of such dreadful ilk. Perhaps I am overly idealistic, but I hold to the old adage I was raised with: "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." When others around me take to bashing -intentionally or ignorantly- my stomach begins to churn and tie itself into knots.
I can sympathise with those dogs which literally get their hackles up! Normally, I am quite peaceable (my nickname did come from my personality...) but when my patience wears out, and my nerves are on edge, my own attitude is not stellar. My anger is not easily stirred up but if it is roused, it is the result of much build up to that boiling point. Most people know better than to gripe me, though some simply are in the dark and others seem to brave my wrath no matter the result knowing that as a storm, it too shall pass.
Statements spoken as if the individual opinion is the only valid one in existance irk me to no end. Not only is this a false impression, it is wrong. God alone knows the ONLY way for anything. After much frettign over this topic, I decided to post about it in hopes that my friends and any other readers will perhaps think more before they speak, and realize that words DO hurt people!!!! Personal opinions are just that - personal opinions. This means that if you do not like olives, zig-zag parts, un-salted food, country music, jeans on long legs, jeans on short legs, gray T-shirts on your friend, the bagpipes or haggis, fat women in the mall, happy but fake movies, modern art, different styles of worship, slow drivers, or processed cheese, don't proclaim it on the mountain tops. We really don't need to know.

Last Friday Steve came down for a visit and the Collective Soul concert. Collective Soul being an absoposatutely fantabulous band with amazing sound and great lyrics.... *w00t* AND THEY WERE IN EDMONTON!!!!!!!!! WOW. DOUBLE WOW THAT STEVE TOOK ME!!!!!! WOW for the three of us that went..... WOW WOW WOW!!!! :-D :-D :-D
Fiona, Steve and I went to WEM early in my car(the concert was general admission at Red's and sold out, so we wanted to get there early enough to find decent seats). We shopped a bit and I bought a new fall jacket at Urban Trade (a long, green camo jacket with embroidered flowers up the back. OOOOHHHHH so nice. :-D)
(In the below picture of groggy gals, I am the one on the left, wearing my concert T and new jacket)

Red's was packed. The enery surging throughout the entire place was phenomenal. I love concerts!! The seats near the stage were all taken up by the time we got in, and we debated about joining the mosh pit (before it became one) but decided to wander around a bit b4 the concert started and take whatever spots we could find later on. I wanted to see the Loft and sky boxes, and (having seen a couple empty boxes) insisted it would be better there, so we wandered up stairs. Around the corner, above the stage, we found a skybox that was good, and laid claim to it. *buahahaha*

Steve bought us drinks and we scouted out some Tour T-shirts and posters etc.
The pre-bands helped build the excitement, as it was obvious that they were pretty good, but compared to collective soul, they lacked much *cough*. Sure enough, Collective Soul was FANTABULOUS!!!!!!!

The sound was surreal and the lighting was spectacular. I loved the lighting so much, i took more pictures of it than the band!! *heh* The "smoke" is all effects. Red's is smoke-free now. SO nicE!!!!

My pictures did not turn out the best, but SO much better than they could have.... most people jsut get heads and gray fuzz... :-D *whahaha* I might post more later....
