lumière de monde
Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes let me see
Beauty that made
This heart adores You
Hope of a life spent with You
So here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
And You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came
To the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

Methinks I'm rather eclectic, a puzzle. I can't describe myself. My personality is broad, what some have called "A Hub"... :-) *chuckles*
This is a fab quote:
"My clothes keep my various selves buttoned up together, and enable all these otherwise irreconcilable aggregates of psychological phenomena to pass thenselves off as one person."

Last Friday was wild. Or rather, I was.
The scavenger hunt Tim, Amanda, Fiona, Alyson and I planned was executed at WEM.
Steve and I had decided to go like high school emo/skater/punkish. *chuckles* so crazy.
I found lots of colored hairsprays and accessories, and borrowed a beloved skateboard from my boss's daughter Allison. A long green t-shirt with a black tank top over it, topped with three belts, a courdroy tiered knee-length skirt over tight jeans rolled up mid-calf seemed in orded, and rainbow-striped socks with retro-style tennies completed the outfit.
Steve donned a big black wig, a black T-shirt with a white silk-screen, a tatoo of barbed wire and we filled in his beard with mascara. We both had fun locating mini spring-hoops on our lips and noses etc... LOL
We made quite the pair traipsing through the mall with our skateboard and sling bags and wild hair and statement outfits. The ammount of odd looks we recieved was great fun. We decided that people who dress that way on a regular basis are just screaming for attention, though they sometimes receive negative attention.
I recieved negative attention while talking to some buddies at the HMV stage. I was standing on the skateboard, evedently appearing way too comfortable. A sorry excuse for a security guard came up to me and told me I would have to carry the board. I complied, but inwardly rolled my eyes as I looked over at some clean-cut boys who were getting away with actually rolling about and ollie-ing.
Brain Burp:Our society prides itself in claiming to be "non-discriminatory", our Churches and orginizations say they are loving as Christ loved and all that jazz, but when push comes to shove, people really do judge by appearance. I have seen this before, in people's amused/scornful reactions to menonite-ish or fashion-devoid dressed people wandering around the city, looking so out of place, or when clerks refuse to be polite to teen-agers in a corner store, or the piety-concious people who sneer down on people who wear jeans or perky outfits to church. dissapointing, but part of life it seems. :-
And now, back to our scheduled programming:Amanda collected all the photos from the teams and put them into a power point presentation. Steve and I helped Tim add up points, then we packed ourselves over to Mayfeild Boston Pizza. We crowded in the party room at the back and drove the poor waitresses bonkers with all the noise and antics generated...
LOL
Henry and Time projected the pictures onto a sheet on the wall, so we all could enjoy sniggling at the photos. It was pretty interesting as none of the teams got all the questions, there was constantly something new to look at.
Overall, I call it a successful evening... Then we stayed at Laura's, up to all hours and scrapbooking all morning the next day... lunch and then goodbyes. :-) fun times. :-D
